So, I figured it was about time Carter went to see a ballet. He reluctantly agreed (after about the 3rd time I mentioned it), and we ended up seeing Sleeping Beauty at the Capitol Theatre. I had never seen it before and it ended up being almost 3 hours (including intermission). Maybe I should have chosen a different ballet for a 10 year old, but I didn't realize it was going to be so long.

But, as you can see, he made it (this picture was taken after the ballet) and is still smiling. I think he was just glad to be out of there. There were a few parts he was impressed with (the flash before the Fairy of Jealousy disappears and then when she flies off stage hanging from a wire), but he was quite bored with the rest. That's okay, he's going to be glad he went someday, but it'll probably be a while before that happens. I, on the other hand, loved it. And I was really pleased with our seats-my favorite spot to sit so far. We were on the front row of the balcony. We could see into the orchestra pit and had a perfect view of the stage. It's nice not to have someone's big head in front of me (if you're short like me, you totally get what I'm talking about).
Tyler's next. I don't think he's too excited about seeing a ballet either, but maybe if I take him to Dracula he'll survive.
